A Walk in Constable Country May 2006
Sunday 24th May 2006
Andrew, Christine (and dog Max), Helen, Lynne, Stella, Sue, Sylvie and I shared cars and met up at Dedham. After a coffee we walked along the River Stour to Flatford Mill seeing many Constable scenes. We then walked uphill to The Kings Head P.H. Restaurant for Sunday lunch. Suitably refreshed we walked to E. Bergholt Church to see their Bell Cage. They ring these bells at ground level.(the bell tower was never built). After walking to the outskirts of Manningtree we returned to Dedham for the journey home.
We all had a great day, fine weather, and wonderful company. What more could you want. Fresh air, good lunch, good exercise, nice scenery, nobody would be requiring a sleeping pill tonight. Peter.
This walk is on again in May 2007 due to a few requests for a repeat. (A shorter walk this time)
