Boat Trip May 20th 2006
Trip on the MV. PRINCESS POCAHONTAS
A group of 17 Options members had a boat trip from Tilbury Ferry Terminal to Greenwich. During the trip we had a full commentary of all the things of interest along the route. On board was a bar and light refreshments. It was nice to find that prices were no dearer than our local pub. The crew were also very friendly. The one thing that Stella failed to organise was the weather. It was windy with lots of showers. When we got to Greenwich we split up into several groups to do our own thing.
Greenwich has lots to offer. The Observatory, park, good pubs, market as well as all those fine old buildings. It would take several days to see it all.
Refreshed we all returned to the boat that had been up to Chelsea and back. We were all a little quieter on the return trip passing through the Thames Barrier and under the QE II Bridge. I tried to get a volunteer to do this write up. There were none. So if anyone changes their mind, delete this and put in your version.
Again thanks to Stella for a great day out. ......Peter.
