Sunflowers
If you buy bird seed, consider taking out a few of the sunflower seeds, and sow them. Sow 3 or 4 in the same spot, add a label, and remove all bar one when a few inches high.
Hedge Trimmers for Lawns
A cordless hedge trimmer with the short stubby (3 pronged) blades are really good for edging small area of lawns. They can also be used to trim around stepping stones.
Stand Up Bench / Cupboard
Build or buy a storage cabinet which has a solid top suitable for working while standing up. It should be the same height as a kitchen worktop. It is also great for social occasions too, for nibbles / drinks.
Mine is home made, with large plastic storage boxes inside the cupboard, and a top made from decking planks (with the plain side facing up).
Snacks
Sow a spicy lettuce mix (mustard, mizuna etc) in seed trays right by the door, and snack on them each time you pass. Stagger the sowing times, for maximum snacking time. I also plant at least 1 cherry tomato plant near the lawn for snacking too.
