World Cup 2014 Diary
Get in the mood - play the "Brazil" theme, or watch the whole movie.
Thursay 12th June
Brazil (Emma) vs Croatia (Simon) : 3 - 1
Some dodgy decisions from the ref helped Brazil come back from a goal down to win 3-1. Is Simon's team dead and buried on day one? Nah, its still in their hands, and they have the skill to beat Cameroon and Mexico. Brazil don't look like tournament winners.
Friday 13th June
Mexico (Amanda) vs Cameroon (Asul) : 1 - 0
More dodgy decisions. Was either of Santos's stikes off side - I think not! Luckily for Mexico, they still won, but if the group come down to goal difference, this could knock them out.
Spain (Asul) vs Netherlands (Kala) : 1 - 5
After a skillful and promising start for Spain, a glorious diving header from van Persie just before half time changed the course of the game. The second half was all Holland. Despite having Spain again this tournament, it doesn't look like Ausl will win the sweepstake again!
Chile (Lilian) vs Aul (Australia) : 3 - 1
Two early goals looked like Chile would coast home to victory, but a classic cross into to box and Tim Cahill's climbing header kept things interesting. But not enough for me to keep my eye open - I bailed out of the second half.
Oh dear, two losses in a single evening for Asul,
Saturday 14th June
Columbia (Nick) vs Greece (Lilian)
Columbia score the slowest goal - the ball trickled over line in the 5th minute. Their second goal came from a corner; tapped on from the near post for an easy poke home.
Greece had their change - an empty goal, six yard line the header hit the underside of the bar.
At the death Columbia scored their third from a quciky taken free kick, playing up field quickly.
Uruguay (Simon) vs Costa Rica (Simon) 1 - 3
Simon is playing with himself ;-) Wow! What a match, nobody expected that result. Surely that' good new for England.
