Cajun Spiced Bread



  • 1 Egg Yoke
  • 1 tbsp Water


I made this as a traditional loaf within the bread machine...

  1. Add all the ingredients into the machine
  2. Hit go!


Nothing to write home about. Maybe I'll add extra spices next time. The tomato puree gives the loaf a orangey glow.

Full Braid

  1. Use the dough setting.
  2. hen finished, place the dough on a floured surface, knock back, and divide into three.
  3. Roll the pieces in ropes.
  4. Braid the three ropes. Press the ends together, and tuck under.
  5. Cover with oiled film, and leave to prove in the warm for 30-45 minutes
  6. Preheat the oven to 200°C
  7. Mix the egg yoke and water to make the glaze, brush on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
