For a 1lb loaf of Bread :
- 155ml Milk
- 1 large Egg
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 340g White Bread Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp Yeast
- Put all ingredients in the bread tin in the order listed.
- Make a well in the centre of the flour and pour in the yeast
- Select the 1lb basic white setting, and press start

For fresh herbs finely chop :
For dried herbs, use 1 teaspoon of each.
I accidentally bought the wrong yeast - it wasn't fast acting, so the bread didn't rise much. When I used the correct yeast, it rose too much, and then collapsed a little. The "wrong" version was more cakey, which I like. The "correct" version tasted nice, but the texture was airy, and a little boring! Maybe somewhere in the middle would be perfect, so maybe use just 1 teaspoon of fast acting yeast.
