Height: 100-180cm. Position: Full Sun. Spacing: 40-60cm.

Sow Indoors
Sow thinly in a seed tray from February at 15-18°C.
Cover with a thin layer of compost or vermiculite.
Water lightly, do not allow to get too wet.
Cover with a transparent lid, or a polythene bag (turning daily to combat condensation).
Germinates in 2-3 weeks.
When large enough to handle, Prick Out, then later move to a 9cm pot.
Harden Off and plant out when all risk of frost has passed.
Alternatively, seeds can be sown later in the season for flowering the following year.
Maintenance
Protect from slugs and snails.
Add a strong upright support, taking care not to disturb the root ball.
In late autumn or early winter, cut down all stems and foliage to ground level.
At the beginning of the following spring, mulch with organic fertiliser. When new shoots appear, thin to 3 stems for 2nd year plants, and to 5 stems for older plants, cutting the others off at ground level.
Propagation
Plants can be Divided in March / April.
Varieties
