2nd Year |
Height:90-120cm. Position: Partial Shade. Spacing: 30cm.
Very early sowing under glass may deliver flowers the same year, but usually, more patience is needed!
Sow Indoors
Sow thinly in a seed tray, or pot. Do not cover, as light is required for germination. Watering from above with a fine rose can aid germination (the water removes germination inhibitors). Keep at 15-18°C.
Prick Out. Harden Off and plant out when the danger of frost has passed.
Sow Outdoors
Sow many seeds in Stations where you want each plant, and thin each station to one seedling.
Maintenance
Keep the soil moist, foxgloves do not tolerate dry soils. Try not to water the flower stems, as the extra weight may bend and damage the stem.
