Indoor Sowing
For early crops, sow under glass in February and plant out in April, spacing 20cm apart.
Outdoor Sowing
Sow thinly in a prepared seed bed in rows 25cm apart, or direct into 25cm pots for baby leaves. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil, and firm gently. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. For continuous crops, sow every 2-3 weeks.
Growing On
For baby leaves, thin to 5cm apart; 20-25cm apart to grow mature plants. Keep moist and weed free.
Harvesting
Individual baby leaves can be picked as required, a few from each plant. The leaves will regrow, for up to 4 cuts. Pick whoe plants from May.
