May
Birds seen in the garden year to date (most frequent first)...
Starlings, Pigeons, Robins, Blue Tits, Sparrows, Magpies, Goldfinches, Great Tits, Wren, Dunnock, Sparrow Hawk (pecking at its prey while sitting on the wall).
Birds flying high overhead aren't counted - only those *in* the garden.
April
27th
Continued to plant out more flowers and squashes (unprotected).
26th
I decided to start planting out early. Usually, I wait till late May, but the weather is lovely, and the forecast shows no freezing temperatures.
I planted out toms, and various flowers in the nearest bed. In the veg patch, I planted toms and French beans. Squashes etc. planted out with a cold-frame as well as some unprotected in the nearest bed.
February
25th
Sowed lot of flower seeds in half-sized trays. Some are old seeds, so I'm not expecting all to germinate.
24th
Such a wet winter, but Spring has finally arrived.
Small clear up of the garden, and planted out strawberry plants (from runners) into decorative pots near the back door.
